Ileana’s 24

The last 10 days have been hectic for Chiyaan Vikram. The actor has been busy shuttling between dubbing for Mani Ratnam’s Raavan and his forthcoming film, tentatively titled 24, directed by Vikram K Kumar in Chennai. He was spotted shooting for 24, a sci-fi film, in a huge cave set erected by art director Sunil Babu of Ghajini fame near AVM in the city. Ileana has finally been confirmed as the heroine opposite Vikram in the film.

Talking to this newspaper, Vikram K Kumar said, “24 is only a working title. We have some other choices as well. Vikram plays a common man, he could be any of us. Unlike what has been reported by a few, he is not playing a larger-than-life hero. The film does have an element of science fiction, which is relevant to our present-day context. The movie also has a strong undertone of humour, action and thrills, packaged in a commercial format.” He added, “We have completed one schedule here in Chennai and Ileana will be joining Vikram for the next.”The film’s cinematography is by ace lensman P.C.Sreeram and produced by Mohan Nadarajan.
