Aamir’s Peepli Live at Berlinale

Peepli Live, a satire on India’s rural life, which has been directed by debutant Anusha Rizvi and produced by Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, will be screened at the 60th Berlin Film Festival.

The film is among the 22 other films selected to be shown at the festival’s special section, beginning February 11.

The movie, which stars theatre and movie veteran Raghubir Yadav, Omkar Das, Shalini Vatsa, Farukh Jaffer, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Malaika Shenoy, Vishal Sharma, is a humorous take on the village life.

The film will have its world premiere at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival in the US on January 24.

Aamir, who was last seen in blockbuster 3 Idiots, has decided to take a break from acting to focus on his home productions –Peepli Live, Delhi Belly and Dhobi Ghat, which has been directed by wife Kiran Rao. (PTI)
