Is Tollywood Breaking Formula?

Amongst the southern cinema circuits, the Tollywood circuit has always been known for its standard formula films and the conventional methods of stories. But with each passing day, such things seem to be changing and right now, Tollywood seems to be going through a path breaking mode.

With films like Ye Maya Chesaave, Village Lo Vinayakudu etc, it is being observed that offbeat genres are being appreciated very well by the audience and they are raking in moolah at the box office as well. The film pundits are closely monitoring this new trend and say that this is a good sign.

However, the need to spread such format of movies in the B and C centers also is necessary, they add. But then, there are those who say that this would spoil the authenticity and identity of the Telugu cinema.
