The film Sagara Sangamam is a classic. The film directed by K Viswanath was a big hit and people still remember it, though it got released in the year 1984. Kamal Haasan played the role of a passionate classical dancer with Jayapradha in the female lead.

Kamal who recently completed 50 years in films, said in an interaction with the media that he was keen on working in a remake of the film. Talking about the movie, Kamal said that if any director intended to remake the film, he was ready to play the same role once again.

"Although I'm 55 years old now, I am raring to do the same role of a 25-year-old if they choose to remake the film. In my opinion, art is ageless," he said.

Sagara Sanghamam went on to bag many awards. The film was talked about for its haunting music by maestro Ilayaraja which also fetched him the first National award for Best Music Direction, and the National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer was awarded to S.
