For the past few days there are unexpected attacks on the people involved in shootings in Tollywood resulting in wounds to people and damages to the properties. This also has led to huge losses in the industry which is already suffering due to disruption in releasing the new movies. Under these circumstances to ensure proper ambience, the president of AP Film Chamber of Commerce VV Balakrishna Rao, KC Sekhar Babu, Telugu Producers Film Industry Association T Prasanna Kumar, President of Hyderabad State Film Chamber of Commerce M Vijayender Reddy, MAA President M Murali Mohan and AP Film Employees Federation’s K Rajeswara Reddy organized a press meet at Hyderabad.
They appealed, “For the past three days we are seeing disturbances at shootings. The man handling and creating a dreadful atmosphere at film shooting spots are shocking to the film industry. This is to be noted that the politics and cinema do not have any connection and all the leaders are requested to advice the party workers to refrain from attacking thefilm industry as well as its people. Every common man needs cinema and at the same time the cine industry needs the support of every common man. In such a situation if there is man handling as well as damages to equipment and the sets how thousands of people depending on these shootings can live? Their livelihood depends on productions and such disturbances are affecting the same badly.
The cine industry with deep sense of hurt condemns such emotional and intuitive attacks on gullible and harmless movie-makers. We sympathize those who have been subjected to such attacks. At the same time we request all in the cine industry to not to turn emotional but follow peace. We request the state government to provide full security to all the shooting spots.”
